Image Group customers are always talking about printing, which is why we have decided to offer you a few tips on printing. Although you may know some of these tips, we wanted to ensure you know everything you need to know. This information is for new and existing Image Group users who are having problems printing.

 

Thermal Versus Standard Printers 

If you are a new Imagegroup.com customer, the first thing you should know is that there are two different kinds of printers - thermal printers and standard printers. A thermal printer prints by using heat. The thermal printer uses two types of formats - ZPL and EPL. These formats are the language used by the thermal printer and tell the printer how to print your label. A standard printer, on the other hand, uses laser technology or ink to print. As you can imagine, it is essential that you know which type of printer you own and make sure that Image Group knows the type of printer you are using. This is done during the setup process.

 

Setting Up Your Printer 

When you first begin with us, our Shipping Setup Wizard will help you to set up your printer properly. Read each computer prompt during the setup and ensure you know the answer to the questions, including whether you use a thermal or a standard printer. If you are using a standard ink or laser printer, make sure that you do not check the thermal printer box. If you are unsure on the type of printer that you own, a simple internet search of your printers make and model will provide you with the necessary information. Printing Rules 

Printing errors in Image Group are typically rated to the following printing rules. Most of the time, you do not need to change anything on the printing rules screen. When you process a shipment, Image Group will use the default setting that includes these rules:

f the shipment order is in the thermal filter, a thermal label will print. Otherwise, a standard label should be used.

Additionally, some providers include rules for international shipments.

If the shipment contains an international filter, a commercial invoice label should be used.

 

* If your printer does not work, check the setting section first and change the settings so they look like the picture. Then, ty to print again.
